The Peace pilgrim

I recently found a book at a jumble sale about a woman called Peace Pilgrim..
Her birthdate and name she never told as she felt her message was so much more important..
Well.. this is a tribute to a very inspring woman, that walked more then 25000 miles on foot from 1953 to 1981... with nothing but her clothes on her back and in her blue tunic her only possessions ..........

This is her message.....

Silence

Are we not caught in the chaos of technology..?
the constant tunes of the radio and the TV...
Have you seen those people who are constantly distracted,
with an ipod, or a blue tooth to their ear...
even when walking in the midst of nature..

Have you noticed our children are constantly running?
chaseing and seeking one trend after the other...
Or that there is hardly a day where we enter our homes,
and not turn on the TV or computer...

Where has the silence gone?
Are we not tired of the constant noise?
cars, traffic.. loud and idle chatter..
have we all lost our ability to sit and lie in silence?
